Receiving body work on a regular basis is not only nurturing but responsible. We have gotten too far away from how to communicate with our bodies on all levels. You need to feel where you have blocks of flow that inhibit good circulation and to know where your body is at all times in terms of stress and tension. Massage helps to get good blood flow moving to all body parts and removes toxins and stagnancy that can lead to weight gain, cancer and other dis-eases.
When you receive a massage you start to connect with your body more and there is a natural response to treat it better. You will naturally begin to make better food choices and do the recommendations that your therapist and/or trainer may give you between sessions to improve your health and wellness.
When toxins, circulation blocks and muscle tensions are released, old habit patterns locked in the body can also be released. This may help to free you from the bondage of these negative habit patterns that lead to excess weight gain.
Every time you receive a massage or corrective therapy of any kind, you are checking in with your body. Many of my clients think they are not holding onto too much tension until they get on the table and begin to feel these areas calling out. Through massage these areas are being addressed and freed.
